About MindfulKids®

As a psychologist, I always teach my clients doing Mindfulness or leading their kids to do so, a scientific research proven way to work on emotional and many other mental or physical issues. The results are always promising! Parents report that after having their children to practice Mindfulness, the kids are more able to control their emotions, less likely to have tantrum, able to concentrate more on schoolwork etc. Even parents themselves notice that they are having more choices on parenting and less likely to have emotional outburst at the children! However, they also report that it may be a bit hard to keep their kids to practice 10 minutes breathing at the first time!

Therefore, combining my experience in serving the families and children, the knowledge of child development & psychology, and my over 20-year experience in practicing meditation (in form of Taichi and Qigong) as well as my qualification of being a Mindfulness teacher, I designed "MindfulKids®"training. It is a secular way of Mindfulness and suitable for Parents, Teachers, Counsellors, Social workers and all professions related to children!

Moreover, our organisation is recognised by Voluntary Continuing Professional Development Scheme for Registered Social Worker under Social Worker Registration Board, Hong Kong. Graduates can gain CPD upon completion of the trainings!​

About

Mindfulness for Parents

MindfulKids® tailored to help parents to deal with the challenges that parents face daily, to cope with the parental stress, having more resources on parenting, and appreciate the children in more creative ways.

We will cover common Mindfulness practices, as well as debriefing from the parents' perspective so that you can enjoy the benefits that Mindfulness brings you, and also able to have a new perspective on your parenting roles.

According to hundreds of our graduates, they reported reduced parenting stress and enhanced parent-child relationship after practicing MindfulKids®.

Mindfulness for children

We will provide some ideas on Mindfulness activities suitable for kids from age 3-12 so that learners can easily lead the practices at home with their kids. Moreover, we encourage learners to create their own Mindfulness activities and interact with their children. Once complete the Certificate level training, learners are able to invent their own Mindfulness games for their children.

Integration & group facilitation

We will cover group facilitation skills in Coach level so that learners are able to, not only facilitating their own children to practice Mindfulness, but also capable to lead a Mindfulness practice group for children. As a Mindfulness Coach, learners are able to integrate Mindfulness practice into their own professional practices. For example, a teacher can integrate Mindfulness practice in her daily teaching; a counsellor can use Mindfulness for helping her clients; a social worker can design social workshop for children using Mindfulness techniques.

SOcial Support

The learners of the course are also being supported by FaceBook group created exclusive for learners and graduates. We formed a community that we can share the practice and experience, as well as exchange the teaching of Mindfulness under different cultural contexts. Also, learners are welcome to send in-box message or email for asking questions so that your learning will be fully supported by the trainer as well as other learners and graduates.

When my friends were told that I have joined this course that last for 3-hr / lesson, they all said it will be a hard one. Surprisingly, it turns out that, i found the 3-hr is too short! With all the interesting teaching (even for the theoretical part) & useful sharing that Victor has given us, I've learned the basic but essential knowledge about Mindfulness, regarding both the theory and practice. Victor has also given us the useful and practical advice for parenting, which has led me to a new way for facing the everyday challenges in parenting.

Yet, with my purpose of joining the course for learning about ways that Mindfulness can assist my kid for his emotion issue, I would prefer spending more time of the lessons focusing on the skills/exercise/ sharing regarding practicing Mindfulness with kids.

I learned different Mindfulness practices in the course, and practicing for a few weeks. The most impactful benefit to me is that I am able to aware the change of emotions, and remind myself to appreciate emotions in multiple perspectives. I feel amazing upon completion of the training. At the beginning, I enrolled under curiosity, & thought it's not bad to learn something. Even the class is boring, I still got some colleagues together with me (but finally, the class turned out not boring at all). However, I realised that it is a gift from God just after the first session.

I am suffering from some emotional issues for long time and the situation is not stable... The course just provide an opportunity for me to face myself, try to accept my good and not-good-enough, happiness and sadness. Although it is a long way for fully recovery, Mindfulness gives me a sense of hope.
